November 6, 2015 (El Cajon ) -- The annual Mother Goose Parade is nearly upon us, still going strong after nearly 70 years. This very popular event began in 1947 and some changes this year should breathe new life into this fantastic family attraction. This year, the parade shifts to a Saturday,  Nov. 21st starting at 10 a.m.

This years Mother Goose parade theme will be: SUPER HEROES!

Remember folks, the new parade route changed last year. It now begins at Ballantyne & east Main St. - goes east along Main St. to Johnson Ave. then north to the final destination at Parkway Plaza mall.

This ever popular parade gets very crowded and oh’ so exciting! Get there early for good seating.

Bring beverages to quench your thirst (no alcohol please), food to satiate the appetite, a camera to record what’s happening and portable shade for the usually hot sun. Look for special guests, as well as the familiar.

The parade itself should last about two hours with around 100 floats and will culminate at Parkway Plaza mall, with a carnival for everyone at the Mother Goose Village near Macy‘s department store in the northeast mall parking lot.  More activities will be going on inside the mall at various locations.

Please allow extra time and patience for unusually heavy, slow traffic, plus street closures & detours. Take your time, be courteous to everyone and use common sense - finding a nearby parking spot can be a daunting task.

The entertainment will surely be worth it and keep you on your feet wanting more… Have fun everyone, and be safe.
